WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS
Song: When The Levee Breaks
Artist: LED ZEPPELIN
This post is about one of the greatest bands of hard rock of all time.
A band that was founded in London in 1968 with a massive impact during the 1970s.
Thus, Led Zeppelin became representative of genuine hard rock in the purest 1970s style.
They split up in 1980, and when I first listened to them back in the mid-80s, they were already part of Rock 'n' Roll history and their music remains influential today.
I soon got captivated by their vibes. Hard rock oozing blues and folk without losing that rock essence.
The first album of theirs that fell into my hands was called IV—their fourth one. An album that was delivered in 1971, a year before I was born. And I remember that music evoking rural sceneries rather than urban ones.
They are British and some of their work reminds me of the English countryside, but many other songs of theirs are deeply American pictures. Like this one I bring today—the cut that closed that IV album. A bitter scream like a sip of bourbon with echoes of desperation as if their characters were right out of The Grapes of Wrath.
Let's feel this cry as a kind of tearing prayer.
