With this post I want to broaden the range of rock styles comprised in this blog, which are part of my beloved melodies.


For those of you not familiarised with The Mission, is one of the most remarkable gothic rock artists from the UK but distinctively they have always performed it with a more colourful and exotic standpoint.

Were I to choose some of their wonderful albums I would pick Carved in Sand or God's Own Medicine which have come along day and night. 

Today's song belongs to the former being a piece of poetry. Inspiring music and forceful rhythm for the city decay. Love, thrill and lust for the unknown.

The Mission's music is utterly beautiful and bound to move you. Get immersed in their universe.

BATTLE TO THE LAST

Song: Battle To The Last Artist: DARKNESS This month I want to dust off the music of Darkness .  Some may say there are many bands with that name, but for me, there's only one Darkness. For those who are not familiar with the band, they became, in the late 80s, representative of what we could now call the purest old-school German Thrash style .  Their first two albums are cult items which I was lucky enough to have in my hands. Their records feature underground-drawn artwork that matches their vision of a world in chaos.  What I like most about this band is their raw sound. Listening to their albums is like being at a live concert. Song: You Can't Kill Rock and Roll Artist: OZZY OSBOURNE This month I want to pay my respects to a real artist who passed away last month. Ozzy Osbourne will always be part of the history of Heavy Metal as one of the major names in the genre. And I'm not going to speak about him beyond his records and musical performance. I am not interested in the celebrity. There are enough people adoring his life off stage, and this is a blog about music. So, no more tickets for the circus. I remember, as a teenager back in the early eighties, when I first listened to the album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath , knowing little about him and his band, Black Sabbath .
