She bursted into the metal scene right in the 80's amongst a male dominance and leading her former band Warlock with whom she would become an unparalleled singer of unmistakable voice and inexhaustible enenergy.

Their songs both in Warlock times and Doro ones depict  hostile sceneries and lawless kingdoms where battling alone is sometimes the only choice.

I have picked this song from her album Warrior Soul which in my opinion is her best release. A perfect collection of themes to feed your survival instinct.

Haunted Heart is a love song full of agony and passion where the heartrending singing of Doro along with its powerful guitars break through with the ferocity of a wounded beast.

BATTLE TO THE LAST

Song: Battle To The Last Artist: DARKNESS This month I want to dust off the music of Darkness .  Some may say there are many bands with that name, but for me, there's only one Darkness. For those who are not familiar with the band, they became, in the late 80s, representative of what we could now call the purest old-school German Thrash style .  Their first two albums are cult items which I was lucky enough to have in my hands. Their records feature underground-drawn artwork that matches their vision of a world in chaos.  What I like most about this band is their raw sound. Listening to their albums is like being at a live concert.
