This post is in honour of Megadeth. And talking about Megadeth means speaking on his leader and founder Dave Mustaine.


When you are fated to reign in thrash metal kingdom there is nothing in the world to keep you away from it. Thus, after being kicked out from Metallica, far from getting put off he went on to establish his own project.

The first albums of Megadeth were a massive blast and it is easy to see the stylistic line both Metallica and Mustaine followed.

Speed, rage and social condemnation at the service of heavy metal to star in the thrash metal scene.

And all this became part of the history of heavy metal. Natural competitor of Metallica, fast and furious guitar riffs, all that is what Megadeth brought. But Dave Mustaine is much more than that.

Here I bring you one of my beloved songs.  Breathtaking lyrics and a delicate melody  to show the wide stylistic range that Dave Mustaine possesses.

Recalling friends when you are on the verge of vanishing from this world and your last thought is for them.

BATTLE TO THE LAST

Song: Battle To The Last Artist: DARKNESS This month I want to dust off the music of Darkness .  Some may say there are many bands with that name, but for me, there's only one Darkness. For those who are not familiar with the band, they became, in the late 80s, representative of what we could now call the purest old-school German Thrash style .  Their first two albums are cult items which I was lucky enough to have in my hands. Their records feature underground-drawn artwork that matches their vision of a world in chaos.  What I like most about this band is their raw sound. Listening to their albums is like being at a live concert. Ozzy Osbourne will always be part of the history of Heavy Metal as one of the major names in the genre. And I'm not going to speak about him beyond his records and musical performance.
