LIFT

Song: Lift Artist: Poets Of The Fall In this post I want to introduce this song by the Finnish band Poets Of The Fall. It was the kick-off of their debut album. The tune take us to a big wheel of emotions since the first second. Life brings along its ups and downs and that is what the lyrics are about. It is one of my favourite songs when it comes to triggering positive thinking. Close to the end of the song an impressive guitar  solo springs like a spiral of notes. You are atop the big wheel and a gust of fresh air gets you ready for the battle. LOOSE HEART

Song: Loose Heart Artist: Riverside Riverside has become one of my favourite progressive metal bands. The point is I watched them some years ago in one of the Monster of Rock festivals held in Spain. They made an impression on me, leaving a mark. However, it has been but recently that I have been abducted by their music. Riverside albums are consistently perfect and the way they do it simply engages all your senses. Their songs make you dream with oneiric disturbance. It is utterly beautiful. This Polish band clicks with the obscurity of H.P. Lovecraft's stories which I discovered by chance when reading the Providence's writer. Similarly it perfectly pairs with another master of gothic underworlds. Also a Pole, Zdzisław Beksiński, whose paintings in turn, match the horror ideology of Lovecraft. To finish off here you a have a song from their first album. A song full of magic. A journey to Riverside's universe where the two first albums are well worth a visit. Here’s a song...

ANGEL OF DEATH

Song: Angel of Death Artist: Slayer Heavy Metal is music of excesses. There is no guitar solo fast enough. There is no yell loud enough. And that is the reason why this is my favourite music style.  All that unleashed fury is inside Slayer's music and Angel Of Death is a good example of it.  Slayer have a total mastery of power in the service of music. In this song they pefectly depict the nightmare of Nazism and the psychopathy and horrors committed by Josef Mengele.  As  mentioned in the lyrics ... "rancid angel of death flying free". All in all, a great deal of energy to charge your batteries. Here’s a song for you… Angel Of Death by Slayer https://open.spotify.com/track/5ohfpKB5tt275f4Y4lQ9F7?si=QCYLdGwbQjWWkBEgI5aU_A
