SHELF IN THE ROOM

Song: Shelf In The Room Artist: Days Of The New I will never forget listening to Days of The New for the first time on the radio. The presenter of my favourite programme would introduce those young American guys who had just brought out their debut album.  I reminisce those first songs like an obsession. The music was acoustic but heavy style. I had to get hold of that recording and it was worth it. It was 1997. On the one hand they resembled other acknoledged US bands but on the other they were showing genuine colours and creating inner and spiritual atmospheres to transport us to the United States far from the big cities. Their acoustic bet was utterly haunting for an European mind like mine. A bus ticket to whatever small village in the rural America and a trip to the feelings of many young people there.
